How do you handle in laws that don’t like you? Okay, I’ll get to the facts. My in-laws don’t like me. They’ve always had a problem with me. Ever since I’ve dated their daughter, they’ve disproved me and have asked my wife to stop meeting me on several occasions.
I know what it feels like to have difficult in-laws. The key here is to stay on your path and not let their problems affect you too much. Some people will never like you, no matter how hard you try, so it’s always better to stop trying. I always suggest my clients to not waste their precious energy on anyone who doesn’t appreciate it.
I’ve tried my best with my in-laws to make it work, but they’ve never reciprocated. So I stopped trying one day. Like I said, just don’t let it get to your head too much. Don’t take it too personally. Just remember why you are here and remember that your partner means the world to you, not their parents. Bad in-laws are more common than good in-laws, sadly. But that’s the world we live in. The best way to deal with it is not to fight back.
How do you deal with disrespectful in-laws?
If your in-laws start being disrespectful towards you, the best thing you can do is not to fight back. Don’t be disrespectful towards them; it’s not the right thing to do. No matter how much they try to make you hate them or say something terrible to them, don’t lose your cool. Just stay on your path and don’t give in. Disrespectful in-laws can lead to couples having massive fights daily. If the problem continues, you need to sit down with the entire family and have a serious discussion about it. Some issues can not be solved without getting the whole family involved.
