Courtney Hutchinson, a London rapper who performs under the stage name DVS has been sentenced to 23 years in prison for raping and torturing a 20-year-old woman for three days.
The rapper began attacking the woman on February 8 soon after she arrived at his residence near London City Airport.
Amid a reported disagreement, he began punching and kicking her and even force-feeding her a meal. He kept her naked throughout the torture.
The next morning, Courtney beat the woman with chair legs, lashed her with a phone cable, and pulled her around the flat by her hair.
He also burned her skin with a hot iron and demanded that she touch the iron to her face.
Saying she needed to be punished, Courtney forced the victim to hold her hands behind her back while he punched her in her face and in her throat.
After promising she’d die the next day, he had the woman call her mother and say goodbye — then he repeatedly raped her.
On the third day, Courtney forced his victim to take scalding hot showers and then stamped on her burn wounds.
He made her say on camera that she was a “bad person.”
Finally, the woman saw a chance to escape and ran naked into the street. Courtney ran after her, saying, “I have got you now,” as Evening Standard reports.
A bystander came to her aid and called the cops, despite Courtney trying to claim the victim was his wife.
The woman was rushed to the Royal London Hospital and was treated for 40 injuries — severe burns, a fractured eye socket, a broken nose, a dislocated shoulder, and a stab wound to the hand.
The victim, who met Courtney when she was 17, is still receiving treatment to this day.
Courtney was arrested a few days later and then pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent, rape, and false imprisonment in July.
Yesterday, January 9, the Snaresbrook Crown Court sentenced him to 23 years in prison and a lifetime as a registered sex offender.
“Courtney Hutchinson subjected his victim to the most shocking and repeated levels of violence,” Detective Sergeant Jimi Tele of the Newham police said.
“The level of violence he inflicted was so severe it demonstrated his total disregard for the victim as a human being, subjecting her to levels of callousness and danger that are rarely seen.
“I would like to praise the bravery and determination of the victim of this truly harrowing ordeal.
“Finally, I would like to add that the Metropolitan Police Service is committed to pursuing those who commit violence and particularly those most dangerous offenders.
“I am conscious that there may be others who have suffered similar violence, whether at the hands of this offender or another, and I would urge them to approach the police.”
