It is another year and another strong showing for Drake, as he tops Spotify’s annual lists of the most streamed music of the last 12 months.
On Thursday morning, the streaming giant released its annual feature Wrapped, which reveals the artists that have made the biggest impression on the previous year in music.
Drake, who released his fifth album Views back in April, completely dominated in all categories in which he was eligible, claiming the titles for most streamed track (for ‘One Dance’), for most streamed album (Views) and the world’s most streamed artist.
He has retained the latter title for the second year in a row, edging out heavyweights like Justin Bieber, Rihanna and Kanye West, with a colossal 4.7 billion streams. Basically, more than half the world’s population listened to at least one Drake track in 2016.
